White Plains / Saint Charles

White Plains / Saint Charles

St. Charles is slightly south of Waldorf, Maryland and will be composed of five planned villages. Some of the planned development has been completed and some are yet to be realized; making this an ideal space for those that want to build a home with their unique signature. Each village offers a multitude of amenities like outdoor swimming pools, man made lakes, playgrounds, walking paths, and neighborhood recreation centers. As with most of the surrounding area, St. Charles is a bedroom community for the greater Washington D.C. area and the military installations found close to Southern Maryland.

A little further down U.S. Route 301 from St. Charles is where you encounter White Plains, Maryland. Here you will find the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs stadium, that is home to the Freedom Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (not affiliated with MLB). The Blue Crabs, a name chosen by popular demand of residents, play home games most nights in the spring and summer. White Plains is also the terminus for the Indian Head Rail Trail that offers a wonderous 13-mile, paved trail for cyclists, hikers, and nature enthusiasts. You won’t regret traveling this trail and seeing the native wildlife like turkeys, deer, bald eagles, heron, and many types of waterfowl. If you’re looking for a tee time, the White Plains Golf Course is open to the public while retaining the green conditions of a private club.
