Cobb Island is in southern Charles County where the Potomac and Wicomico rivers met. This tiny island is home to a handful of restaurants and marinas, a market, small playground for children and a large community green space. Visitors to Cobb Island travel by car, motorcycle, and boat to enjoy the epicurean delights found here.

Rock Point in Charles County is located at the mouth of the Wicomico River with views across the river to St. Mary’s County, Maryland. This area takes its name for the abundant rockfish, also known as striped bass, recreational fishing that led many vacationers to seek out this area. If hunting and fishing are of interest to you, Rock Point is a wonderful destination.

Slightly north of Cobb Island and Rock Point is where you’ll find Swan Point in Charles County. Home to the Swan Point Yacht and Country Club, 18-hole waterfront championship golf course along the Potomac River. There are many different styles of homes ranging from half of an acre to third of an acre lots that could offer water view, water access, or golf course frontage. Amenities of the yacht club include trails, tennis courts, a waterfront pool, and marina. The name of the area is fabled to have come from Captain John Smith during the 17th century when he observed thousands of swans wintering from that point of land.
